PGE retirees have worked through major disasters – floods, quakes, wind, ice, and more recently, fires.  These events affect all aspects of PGE – generation, transmission, distribution, customer operations, community relations, human resources, corporate communications, and so on.  Here are some stories and pictures submitted by the members of PGE Retirees Inc.  (If you have a story – and we know you do – please send them to us at pgeretirees.org.)

PGE retirees, families, and friends gathered December 12, 2024 at the Monarch Hotel and Convention Center in Clackamas.

More than 120 PGE Retirees and guests gathered at the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas on December 12th to renew old friendships, share conversation and camaraderie, a delicious meal, good music, and presentations.

President Greg Rife easily and smoothly directed the proceedings.

Like ships passing in the night retiring PGE Vice President of Human Resources Anne Mersereau, and new Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Felton shared thoughts from the past and looks into the future.

Twice Oregon Poet Laureate nominee and PGE retiree Emmett Wheatfall shared two poems and a moving observation.

Retired PGE employees Bill Valach and Dwaine Wisthoff, who perform publicly as ” The Two Bit Brothers”, again wowed the audience with two sets of music enhanced this year with a bonus performer, drummer Don Dietrich.

Twenty lucky attendees walked away with random drawing gifts consisting of gift cards and swag contributed by PGE. Thank you PGE!

Attendees again made a significant donation of non perishable food items, cash, and new this year online contributions directly to the Oregon Food Bank.

Looking forward to seeing returnees and new faces next year!
