Golf Group
The Golf Group for PGE Retirees is a growing group of about 80 golfers who have expressed an interest in playing together as a group at golf courses in the PGE service area (e.g. Portland to Salem, Mt. Hood to Banks). There are also a few trips further out (e.g. within a 200 mile radius of Portland) that usually require an overnight stay (e.g. Oregon Coast, Eastern Oregon). Trips are organized by volunteer members of the Group. To be part of this Group or help organize events, send an email to PGERetirees@gmail.com.
We encourage our members to consider hosting a golf event at their home course anywhere there might be a group of fellow retirees willing to travel to your location. Let us know if you would like to host an event and we will post an invitation in the CALENDAR on our WEBSITE (pgeretirees.org) and a notice in the PGE Retiree Watt’s Happening newsletter. Golf at Charbonneau on July 26, 2021
It was a good weather day – sunny and low wind – and the greens were in perfect shape for making putts and low scores. Lots of scoring under par! 23 golfers comprised 6 teams. Retirees were from many different areas – and eras – of PGE. Many were old friends from working together many years; others met for the first time even though they had decades of experience at PGE. Everyone had a good time playing golf and the good lunch and the social gathering at the end of the round!
