VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
AVAILABLE: Do you have some spare time on your hands? Want to get
involved with the Retirees but don’t know how to get started? Do you
enjoy being with people but aren’t a bowler or a golfer? Maybe your
spouse wants you out of the house for an hour or two? Whatever the
reason, here are a few ideas for you to check out: The company has
given the Shrives Electrical Museum additional space on the third
floor of the Hawthorne Shop to expand the Museum. We have purchased
four display cases from a store that was going out of business. We
need volunteers for many tasks: from hanging pictures to filing and
sorting through "Bull Run" paper items that we retrieved before it
closed. Come join in on the "fun" of re-arranging and setting up
displays. We meet every Thursday (expect holidays), from 9:30 a.m. to
11:30 a.m. It’s a chance to get out of the house and have a few good
laughs with a great bunch of folks. Interested? Then contact: Bob Lee,
President (503-244-9933, noregon@meidell.com), Chick Colby
(360-573-2096, cwcolbyjr@yahoo.com), Bob Clayton (503-658-2990,
daytonbr@aol.com), Bill Carey (503-654-8515, lcareype@Comcast.com),
Barbara Bergmans (503-682-8858,

TROJAN BELT BUCKLE MEMENTO
These are photos that I want to share with you. The
belt buckle was a popular item among Trojan employees back in 1985.

I designed and contracted its manufacture with
Anacortes Brass Works. There were quite a few made, but I can't recall
the exact number...150, I think. I was Mechanical Design Supervisor,
Nuclear Engineering Dept. at the time, and retired 1989.
